Our Giesen 0% Merlot has been recognised around the world, picking up accolades at a number of extremely prestigious award ceremonies. These include the Global Low & No Alcohol Wine Masters in the UK, the Mundus Vini Non-Alcoholic Wine Competition, and the Melbourne International Wine Competition in Australia. What is Giesen 0%?

Giesen 0% is a best-selling range of alcohol-free wines including a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Rosé, Riesling, Sparkling Brut and a Premium Red. Read more about Giesen Wines below.
All of these wines contain no more than 0.5% alcohol by volume – about the same levels that naturally occur in fruit juice.
But is it wine?!
We want our non-alcoholic options to give you everything you’d expect from a premium New Zealand wine. So we go through the entire winemaking process, before we gently remove the alcohol. Here's how we make alcohol-removed wine.
Using innovative spinning cone technology popular in perfume-making, we separate the wine into three parts: alcohol, aroma, and body. We leave the alcohol behind, recombine the aroma and body, and add just a touch of premium grape juice to balance the final blend.
This advanced form of distillation allows us to handle the wine gently, maintaining the integrity of our distinctive flavor palate and texture throughout the process.
DID YOU KNOW?
The guidelines for what counts as "wine" relate to how the product is made, rather than whether there is any alcohol content! So, because we ferment our grapes first, yes - Giesen 0% is still classed as a wine. That's how we get such a varietally expressive end product!
Step One
We make a delicious full-strength New Zealand wine with the classic flavors loved world-wide.
Step Two
We use innovative spinning cone technology to gently distill the wine into layers:

Step Three
We carefully collect that delicate aroma and add it back into the body of the wine (sans alcohol!)
Step Four
We add just a touch of premium grape juice to round out the final blend. There you have it! Delish.

At just 18 calories per 100ml, a glass of Giesen 0% - New Zealand Premium Red has 70% less calories than a 12.5% alc/vol wine and over 50% less sugar than many fruit juices. How’s that for a bonus?!
